Anita Herrera, MSN, FNP-C, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with more than 12 years of experience helping patients feel their best, inside and out. Before becoming an NP, she dedicated 15 years to emergency nursing, giving her a strong foundation in caring for patients through all stages of life.
Her clinical background includes primary care, urgent care, and college health, but Anita’s true passion lies in women’s health. She is especially committed to guiding women through life’s transitional seasons, from managing hormones to addressing stubborn weight changes. Anita also has a strong interest in “zebra” diseases, rare or complex conditions that often go overlooked, and is passionate about walking alongside patients through the diagnostic journey with persistence, compassion, and advocacy. She believes the most effective healthcare happens when patients and providers work together in an atmosphere of trust, open conversation, and genuine partnership.
Education:
- Master of Science in Nursing – Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing – University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston
Outside of her work, Anita enjoys life with her husband, Wally, their two children, Ariana and Caleb, and their five beloved fur babies.
